Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Human's Own Evo 4 by Showichi Kaneda was worth HKD 547,500.00 (€ 45,073.75) to a buyer in May 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Showichi Kaneda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Humans Own EVO5-01, which sold at auction in November 2009 for HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 104,961.98).

Die Arbeit Human's Own Evo 4 von Showichi Kaneda war einem Käufer im Mai 2008 HKD 547.500,00 (€ 45.073,75) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Showichi Kaneda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Humans Own EVO5-01 beobachtet, die im November 2009 für HKD 1.220.000,00 (€ 104.961,98) versteigert wurde.
