Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Shitao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Landscapes sold for HKD 10,900,000.00 (€ 1,173,550.18) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 5,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shitao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 3,946,000.00 (€ 3,673,773.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shitao erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Landscapes für HKD 10.900.000,00 (€ 1.173.550,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shitao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 3.946.000,00 (€ 3.673.773,39) versteigert wurde.
