Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shitao could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Boating under the Moon changed hands for HKD 480,000.00 (€ 57,521.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shitao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,946,000.00 (€ 3,673,773.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shitao konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Boating under the Moon für HKD 480.000,00 (€ 57.521,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shitao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.946.000,00 (€ 3.673.773,39).
