Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Flowers of Four Seasons by Shitao. The price achieved of HKD 1,260,000.00 (€ 152,343.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shitao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,946,000.00 (€ 3,673,773.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers of Four Seasons von Shitao zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.260.000,00 (€ 152.343,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.000.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shitao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.946.000,00 (€ 3.673.773,39).
