Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Ink Bamboo by Shitao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. It achieved a price of HKD 6,175,000.00 (€ 705,793.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 24%. Admittedly, works by Shitao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,946,000.00 (€ 3,673,773.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Ink Bamboo von Shitao kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 6.175.000,00 (€ 705.793,37) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 24%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shitao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poems, Calligraphy And Landscape im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.946.000,00 (€ 3.673.773,39).
