Shiro Kasamatsu
A woodblock print
in sumi and colour on paper depicting the silhouette of a tree viewed through the window of an interior -- 14¾in. x 9 5/8in. (37.5cms x 24.5cms), signed and sealed, dated 1962; and a further print depicting a snow scene with a riverside pavilion -- 9¼in. x 14¾in. (23.5cms x 37.5cms), one seal. (2)

Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Unknown by Shiro Kasamatsu for GBP 293.75 (€ 422.13). This price was achieved in the auction AT HOME - JAPANESE CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shiro Kasamatsu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,577.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Unknown von Shiro Kasamatsu für GBP 293,75 (€ 422,13) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion AT HOME - JAPANESE CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shiro Kasamatsu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.577,66).
