This artwork by Shiro Kasamatsu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction, the work The Great Lantern of the Kannon Temple, Asakusa (Asakusa Kan non-do o-chochin) sold for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,932.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shiro Kasamatsu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,577.66).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Shiro Kasamatsu erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection wurde die Arbeit The Great Lantern of the Kannon Temple, Asakusa (Asakusa Kan non-do o-chochin) für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.932,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shiro Kasamatsu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) im November 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.577,66).
