In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Chinese & Japanese Art, which included the work Unknown by Shiro Kasamatsu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,590.05), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shiro Kasamatsu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa), which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,577.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Chinese & Japanese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Shiro Kasamatsu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.590,05) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Shiro Kasamatsu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) beobachtet, die im November 2019 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.577,66) versteigert wurde.
