The work Asakusa Kannondo Ojochin (The Great Lantern At The Kannon Hall, Asakusa), 1934 by Shiro Kasamatsu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Works of Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,135.25 (€ 914.27), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Shiro Kasamatsu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,577.66).

Die Arbeit Asakusa Kannondo Ojochin (The Great Lantern At The Kannon Hall, Asakusa), 1934 von Shiro Kasamatsu wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Works of Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.135,25 (€ 914,27) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shiro Kasamatsu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.577,66).
