This artwork by Shirley Jaffe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in Paris in December 2020. In the Contemporary Art - Day Sale auction, the work Parce Que C'Est Un J, For Jean - 1980 sold for EUR 9,100.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shirley Jaffe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Whirling Dervish Ou Indian Flight - 1986 in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 58,840.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shirley Jaffe erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Artcurial in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art - Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Parce Que C'Est Un J, For Jean - 1980 für EUR 9.100,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shirley Jaffe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Whirling Dervish Ou Indian Flight - 1986 im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 58.840,00.
