Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shintaro Miyake could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Cycling; Bathing; Mr. Sweet; & Pirates changed hands for HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,236.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shintaro Miyake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Path to Egypt in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 412,500.00 (€ 39,462.39).
