It achieved a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,634.10), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shinique Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rose Colored Times in September last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).

Die Arbeit The Purple Inside Me von Shinique Smith wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.634,10) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shinique Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rose Colored Times im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65).
