In November 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Brushwork III – Abstract Masters, which included the work Magi 932 by Shozo Shimamoto. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,759.16), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shozo Shimamoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Explosion 64-1 in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 20,500,000.00 (€ 2,419,733.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Brushwork III – Abstract Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Magi 932 von Shozo Shimamoto zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.759,16) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shozo Shimamoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Explosion 64-1 im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 20.500.000,00 (€ 2.419.733,82).
