Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Man On The Pavement by Shiavax Chavda. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,334.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shiavax Chavda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Primal Power in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 39,541.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man On The Pavement von Shiavax Chavda zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.334,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shiavax Chavda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Primal Power im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 39.541,97).
