Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shen Xinhai could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Visiting A Friend On A Spring Day changed hands for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,246.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shen Xinhai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 177,000.00 (€ 19,480.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shen Xinhai konnte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Visiting A Friend On A Spring Day für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.246,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Xinhai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 177.000,00 (€ 19.480,94).
