Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Lady by Shen Xinhai. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 17,700.00 (€ 2,082.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Shen Xinhai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 177,000.00 (€ 19,480.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lady von Shen Xinhai zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 17.700,00 (€ 2.082,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Xinhai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 177.000,00 (€ 19.480,94).
