This artwork by Shen Xinhai achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Delightful Harmony - Fine Modern and Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Playing Go sold for HKD 17,250.00 (€ 1,710.66) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shen Xinhai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 177,000.00 (€ 19,480.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shen Xinhai erzielte im Mai 2013 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Delightful Harmony - Fine Modern and Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Playing Go für HKD 17.250,00 (€ 1.710,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shen Xinhai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 177.000,00 (€ 19.480,94).
