Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Watching Clouds by Shen Qin. The auction ended at the price of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,116.30), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 160,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shen Qin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape in Song Style, which sold at auction in November 2016 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 48,742.67).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watching Clouds von Shen Qin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.116,30) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 160.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shen Qin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape in Song Style beobachtet, die im November 2016 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 48.742,67) versteigert wurde.
