Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2000 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CHINESE PAINTINGS, which included the work Listening To The Waterfall by Shen Daohong. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 94,000.00 (€ 14,200.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shen Daohong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 413,000.00 (€ 45,455.53).
