In October 2017 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy I, which included the work In The West by Shen Daohong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 82,600.00 (€ 9,091.11), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Shen Daohong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 413,000.00 (€ 45,455.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy I durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The West von Shen Daohong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 82.600,00 (€ 9.091,11) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Daohong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seven Sages Of The Bamboo Grove im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 413.000,00 (€ 45.455,53).
