Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Cargo 1, 2006 by Shane Cotton for AUD 24,600.00 (€ 14,916.06). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Bonhams in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Shane Cotton have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2006 by the work Man Carrying Light at AUD 34,655.00 (€ 20,844.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cargo 1, 2006 von Shane Cotton für AUD 24.600,00 (€ 14.916,06) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Shane Cotton wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2006 die Arbeit Man Carrying Light mit AUD 34.655,00 (€ 20.844,06).
