Auction result misses estimated price range
In June last year a collector was able to acquire the work T-Bird, 2004 by Shane Cotton for AUD 246.00 (€ 234.98). This price was achieved in the auction Sherman | Prints & Multiples at Bonhams in Sidney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shane Cotton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man Carrying Light in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 34,655.00 (€ 20,844.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit T-Bird, 2004 von Shane Cotton für AUD 246,00 (€ 234,98) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Sherman | Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Sidney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shane Cotton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man Carrying Light im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 34.655,00 (€ 20.844,06).
