Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Pick Of The Orchard (Picking Apples) by Seymour Joseph Guy for USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,766.58). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 125,000.00 – 175,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Seymour Joseph Guy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Story Of Golden Locks, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 218,500.00 (€ 156,979.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Pick Of The Orchard (Picking Apples) von Seymour Joseph Guy für USD 98.500,00 (€ 70.766,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 125.000,00 – 175.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Seymour Joseph Guy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Story Of Golden Locks beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 218.500,00 (€ 156.979,67) versteigert wurde.
