Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The New Story by Seymour Joseph Guy. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,988.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Seymour Joseph Guy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Story Of Golden Locks, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 218,500.00 (€ 156,979.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The New Story von Seymour Joseph Guy zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.988,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Seymour Joseph Guy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Story Of Golden Locks beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 218.500,00 (€ 156.979,67) versteigert wurde.
