Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Severin Roesen could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation auction, the work Still Life with Peaches and Grapes changed hands for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,870.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Severin Roesen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Fruit In A Landscape in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 769,000.00 (€ 494,215.94).
In der Auktion The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation wechselte die Arbeit Still Life with Peaches and Grapes für USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.870,84) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00.
