Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life: Wine and Fruit by Severin Roesen for USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71). This price was achieved in the auction The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Severin Roesen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Fruit In A Landscape in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 769,000.00 (€ 494,215.94).
