Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scene from Petrushka by Sergei Sudeikin was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 49,263.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sergei Sudeikin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Panels for the Cabaret Prival Komediantov in Petrograd in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 680,500.00 (€ 792,959.40).
