Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tea party on a summer's day: design for an unidentified production of Nikita Balieff's Chauve-Souris theatre in Paris, 1922 39.5 x 49.8cm (15 5/8 x 19 5/8in). by Sergei Sudeikin was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. The price achieved of GBP 44,800.00 (€ 51,913.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 35,000.00 – 55,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sergei Sudeikin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Panels for the Cabaret Prival Komediantov in Petrograd in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 680,500.00 (€ 792,959.40).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 44.800,00 (€ 51.913,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sergei Sudeikin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Panels for the Cabaret Prival Komediantov in Petrograd im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 680.500,00 (€ 792.959,40).
