Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Seven illustrations for Korney Chukovskii's 'Fedia-Bredia' by Sergei Chekhonin was worth GBP 47,500.00 (€ 53,397.04) to a buyer in June 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Russian Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Sergei Chekhonin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Roses, Anemones And Chrysanthemums In A Chinese Vase in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 320,446.49).

Die Arbeit Seven illustrations for Korney Chukovskii's 'Fedia-Bredia' von Sergei Chekhonin war einem Käufer im Juni 2019 GBP 47.500,00 (€ 53.397,04) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Russian Art bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergei Chekhonin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Roses, Anemones And Chrysanthemums In A Chinese Vase im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 320.446,49).
