Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of the artist’s wife, Lydia Vytchegjanine (1889-1960) by Sergei Chekhonin was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,025.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sergei Chekhonin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Roses, Anemones And Chrysanthemums In A Chinese Vase in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 320,446.49).
