Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters Part I, which included the work The Flight Into Egypt by Sébastien Bourdon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 72,469.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sébastien Bourdon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Deposition From The Cross, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 281,000.00 (€ 208,148.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flight Into Egypt von Sébastien Bourdon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 72.469,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sébastien Bourdon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Deposition From The Cross beobachtet, die im Januar 2014 für USD 281.000,00 (€ 208.148,15) versteigert wurde.
