Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Apple Trees by Sean McSweeney was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,792.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Sean McSweeney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roskeeragh in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Apple Trees von Sean McSweeney wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.792,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sean McSweeney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roskeeragh im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.861,17).
