Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sligo Boglands by Sean McSweeney was sold in the Irish and 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in May 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,510.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sean McSweeney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roskeeragh, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17).
