Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figure by Sean Landers was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,597.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sean Landers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Genius in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 360,000.00 (€ 267,598.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Figure von Sean Landers wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.597,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sean Landers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Genius im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 360.000,00 (€ 267.598,31).
