Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges, which included the work Swans in the Garden of Eden by Scottie Wilson. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,513.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Scottie Wilson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Overlapping Heads in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,960.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swans in the Garden of Eden von Scottie Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.513,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Scottie Wilson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Overlapping Heads im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.960,82).
