This artwork by Scottie Wilson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2008. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Face and birds; two further untitled works sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,779.90) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Scottie Wilson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Overlapping Heads sold at auction in July 2012 with the realized price of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,960.82).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Scottie Wilson erzielte im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Face and birds; two further untitled works für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.779,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Scottie Wilson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Overlapping Heads im Juli 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.960,82).
