Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work A Safe Space (5) by Sayre Gomez. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,455.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sayre Gomez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Valley Boy in September this year with an auction result of USD 88,900.00 (€ 83,994.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Safe Space (5) von Sayre Gomez zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.455,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sayre Gomez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Valley Boy im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 88.900,00 (€ 83.994,71).
