In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Drawings, which included the work A Pair Of Neapolitan Views: A) The Bay Of Naples From Mergellina With The Church Of Santa Maria Del Parto; B) The Islands Of Procida And Ischia From Baia by Xavier Della Gatta. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 28,849.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xavier Della Gatta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Naples, Vue Du Palais Royal De Portici, Avec Le Vésuve En Éruption; Naples, Vue Du Port De Portici in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 138,750.00.
