Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included the work Cat's Tongue (Rio) by Sarah Morris. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 49,402.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sarah Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Paradigm (Los Angeles)", which sold at auction in May 2019 for EUR 126,438.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cat's Tongue (Rio) von Sarah Morris zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 49.402,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sarah Morris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Paradigm (Los Angeles)" beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für EUR 126.438,00 versteigert wurde.
