Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Sanford Biggers was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in July 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 875.00 (€ 710.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanford Biggers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Banneker in March last year with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sanford Biggers wurde im Juli 2012 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 875,00 (€ 710,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sanford Biggers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Banneker im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66).
