Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings, which included the work "Will She Hold On?" by Samuel Walters. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,277.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Walters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Confederate blockade runner C.S.S COLONEL LAMB at sea in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 62,434.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Will She Hold On?" von Samuel Walters zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.277,46) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Walters erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Confederate blockade runner C.S.S COLONEL LAMB at sea im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 62.434,69).
