In February 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Maritime, which included the work The auxiliary schooner Ceres of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club in Norwegian waters by Samuel Walters. The price achieved of USD 47,800.00 (€ 38,421.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Samuel Walters have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2004 the work The Confederate blockade runner C.S.S COLONEL LAMB at sea was auctioned for USD 77,675.00 (€ 62,434.69).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.800,00 (€ 38.421,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
