Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Caernarvon Castle, North Wales by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,759.22). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2010 by the work Four Views Of Switzerland: Including View Of: The Grimsel Pass With The Handeck Waterfall; The Haslital; The Schollenen Gorge And Devil'S Bridge, And A Bridge With Waterfalls In The Haslital at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,035.81).
