Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Views of Balborough Hall, Derbyshire by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,633.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Views Of Switzerland: Including View Of: The Grimsel Pass With The Handeck Waterfall; The Haslital; The Schollenen Gorge And Devil'S Bridge, And A Bridge With Waterfalls In The Haslital, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,035.81).
