Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two figures, one reclining, the other pointing upwards by Salvator Rosa was sold in the Always in Style: Old Master Drawings from the Collection of Herbert Kasper auction at Christies in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,641.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvator Rosa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 769,250.00 (€ 924,936.45).

Die Arbeit Two figures, one reclining, the other pointing upwards von Salvator Rosa wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Always in Style: Old Master Drawings from the Collection of Herbert Kasper bei Christies versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.641,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Salvator Rosa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 769.250,00 (€ 924.936,45).
