Sold at the upper estimate price
The work A cloaked man by Salvator Rosa was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,772.82), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvator Rosa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 769,250.00 (€ 924,936.45).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A cloaked man von Salvator Rosa kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.772,82) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Salvator Rosa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 769.250,00 (€ 924.936,45).
