Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Study for an allegory of Justice by Salvator Rosa. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,388.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvator Rosa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 769,250.00 (€ 924,936.45).
