Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work A rocky wooded landscape with Jacob watering Laban's Flock by Salvator Rosa for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,822.95). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvator Rosa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 769,250.00 (€ 924,936.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A rocky wooded landscape with Jacob watering Laban's Flock von Salvator Rosa für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.822,95) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Salvator Rosa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of the artist, half-length, in a brown doublet im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 769.250,00 (€ 924.936,45).
