Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Ryuryukyo Shinsai was sold in the Japanese Art and Design auction at Christies in London in July 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,044.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuryukyo Shinsai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,812.50 (€ 32,661.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Ryuryukyo Shinsai wurde im Juli 2005 in der Auktion Japanese Art and Design bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.044,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ryuryukyo Shinsai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.812,50 (€ 32.661,74).
