In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Edo period (1615-1868), late 18th/early 19th century by Ryuryukyo Shinsai. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,678.00), 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ryuryukyo Shinsai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,812.50 (€ 32,661.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Edo period (1615-1868), late 18th/early 19th century von Ryuryukyo Shinsai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.678,00) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ryuryukyo Shinsai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.812,50 (€ 32.661,74).
